The
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) issued an offshore information sheet (6/2011) to remind duty holders of the need to ensure that the testing of the quality of offshore helideck firefighting foam
concentrates and mixing / induction systems are fit for purpose. This offshore information sheet replaces Safety Notice 2/2004 which has been withdrawn.
Flare Fire Safety Engineering have extensive experience in supporting its Clients’ to ensure that their Helideck Foam Systems are maintained and tested in accordance with
HSE recommendations and performance standard requirements.
Prior to testing a Helideck Foam System, Flare Fire Safety Engineering perform a system design review to ensure that the system in question is capable of supplying the
recommended total water application rates and that the foam stock is in compliance with the minimum operational foam stock specified by CAP 437. During this review if required we will generate:
System Piping Layout Drawings, Hydraulic Calculation Reports, Operational Test Procedures, Operational Test Result Sheets.
Upon completion of the system testing the completed documentation is supplied to the Client as supporting evidence that their Helideck Foam System have been tested in
compliance with HSE & CAP 437 recommendations and performance standards.
